What I've Been Up To
I up-cycled the shirts from some old men's dress shirts from a thrift store (see below post about the Presser Foot group project, and made potato leek soup care of Jacques Pepin More Fast Food My Way. I am now in love with that guy. I can actually MAKE what he cooks. I can remember the simple instructions, simple ingredients, and can afford the ingredients as well. Not too many crazy specialty items on the menu. Watch teh show - they're online, he's funny...
I also made a couple of pairs of baby shoes and gave them to Jon's mom for Mother's Day. She had requested a pair or two and I had to make sure she wouldn't try to pay me for them. Don't forget that there is some knitting in there ( a sweater that I cannot reveal as it is destined to be a holiday gift). I don't think that person reads my blog, but better safe than sorry.
Coming next - a few photos of the Chauncey Walker West Memorial thingy/Psuedo Family Reunion...and a few of some little boys in my backyard.

New Presser Foot project
The new May project is out on Presser Foot, a sewing group blog started by my friend Kelli and her sister.

This month we're making dresses out of men's dress shirts with a tutorial care of MADE guest blogger Dana.

Find the tutorial here on her website. I took a trip to the thift store yesterday and came home with these two shirts:

Can't wait to see how they turn out!

Sam Amidon "Wedding Dress"
I discovered this video Sam Amidon and director Sigga Sunna Reynisdóttir on this website. I really like the song, but the video is very worthy of my love affair with Guillermo Del Toro style and all things Tim Burton-esque. Just ask me how many times I have watched Edward Scissorhands. Or don't. It's actually kind of scary...
P.S. I also changed my commenting setting. I was told that apparently you were not allowed to comment unless you had a good account or something. No longer - anyone including "anonymous" can comment. Although I prefer to know who you are!
