Spring Fever

It's interesting how all human beings tend towards the same thoughts and/or needs. In today's case it was sunshine and fresh air. My interior car thermometer said 60 degrees as I pulled out of the driveway this afternoon and accompanied family on a walk to pick up kids from school. Remember the phrase "everyone and their dog"? Well, everyone and their dog, and their kids, and their husbands, and grandmas, and grandpas were out walking this afternoon. Green leaves and shoots are peaking out of the ground that was covered in inches of snow just last week and everyone has Cabin Fever.

It seems like the Christmas season happened only yesterday; my Winter wreath is still on my front door. While I'm sure there will be a few more flurries in our forecast, there is no denying that Spring really sprung up on us this year.

In other news - I could wait no longer and splurged yesterday purchasing all of the materials needed for a sweater for Jon. It just might be the most expensive sweater he owns (he does own some expensive ones, but we always buy them on sale...) but keeping me occupied is an important and sometimes difficult task; we really have to account for the hours of entertainment the purchase goes for as well, right? I'm excited to get everything going and have started winding the skeins into balls so I can knit up a swatch. Knitting on size 11 needles is like knitting with the fat crayons they make for children, but the fingers will just have to get used to it. Photos to follow another day...dun dun dun...

your work is beautiful, Megan!

and your weather sucks. I watched as the sunshine in 19 degree weather froze slowly across our frosty lawn and tried not to choke up when Julia pointed out the brave shoots that popped up and promptly froze a couple weeks ago in some freaky warm weather.

Our spring begins in june. you can keep the wreath up for us....

I can't wait to see the completed sweater. How many hours do you think it will take?
