Project Progress

While scarf season is largely over with, I am nevertheless forging ahead with Jon's scarf. I'm getting so close, but I am also running out of yarn. This can only mean...another trip to the yarn store!! I know, you're all as excited as I am. Here is a shot of the scarf en route to it's finished state along with the finished mittens.
Last week at work, I received a voicemail from one of my nephews. He was asking me about a little frog? When I called his mother she said he apparently received a very small toy frog from a friend and the first thing he asked was whether I could knit a little cape for him. I guess that's how your know your "hobby" is out of control.
In addition to trips to the yarn store, I took a trip to the mall a couple of weeks ago as well. I went on a spending spree and managed to get all the following for under $50!! 2 pairs of pants from Anne Taylor Loft, a shirt from Banana Republic, 6 baby gifts, and 3 sweaters from Old Navy. Mom would sure be proud of me and my bargain hunting skills.
And finally, the new mittens I am working on!! I'm really excited about them and it's my first attempt at fair isle/colorwork. It's not as tricky as I thought it would be and the bonus? instant gratification! Because you can see the pattern progressing with each round, endorphins keep getting released, which makes you knit more...which makes more endoprhins...which makes you knit...you get the idea.

Viola! Post War Mittens from Twist Collective which is a site I am in love with! Tons of fabulous knitty inspirations.
Oh - two last things. Drapes I made that I am not entirely happy with but they are growing on me. I liked the fabric; it is actually a little heavier than the normal cotton fabric you normally get... a little stiffer. And then teh other photos are of the new media stand we bought and assembled as well as some new pictured ofr our wall. We got them with Christmas money from parents, so thanks Mom and Dad for decorating our wall!!

Whoa Megan, I am in awe of those new mittens you're making. I mean, I didn't know that was humanly possible, I thought only machines could do stuff like that. So cool. I am also impressed with your bargain shopping, it has become on obsession of mine! I love seeing your projects, keep em coming!

Megan, you are a professional! I am still laughing about your nephew asking you to knit a cape for his frog. You better watch out, you're going to get all kinds of requests now!
